A.J., Maine’s youngest ever state representative, had a charming way to surprise his fiance-to-be. At his family’s restaurant, I would pretend to be a photographer for the local newspaper shooting for a top 10 Most Romantic Dinner Restaurants article. He and his girlfriend were to pretend to be a married couple for the photos.
I could see A.J. was nervous even when we were doing the pretend shoot. Then with only a nod, I knew he was going to ask her the question. She said yes.
